Directions and notes

Start on the heritage trail at the end of Geilston Bay Rd. Follow the easy walking track over the hill to the summit and then take the single track down to shag bay. Be careful of walkers. Also be very careful on the descent to the bay as this track is steep, rocky and stepped. The single track ascent on the other side of the bay can be quite tough but is great XC training. Follow the fire trail into the east risdon reserve. The track is very rocky and slowly climbs to a junction point with a sign board. Take the left hand track and coast down the rocky trail down past a water tank until it ends at a new subdivision (Risdon) near the bowen bridge. Turn round and head back to the start.

Really great run to explore and practice on. I would recommend starting at Risdon, going to Gielston bay to break/sesh at the bmx track across the creek, then heading back to Risdon. The trail up from Shag bay is a sweet bit of singletrack, keep some energy for that.
