Directions and notes
An old, rarely used technical single track with a couple of berms, a few switchbacks, some steep sections, some cliff edge fun and even a couple of small bridges. If you're in the area this little trail is well worth a bash.
Eventually this track meets another heading straight down to Dunns Creek. This track is very overgrown but still fun, the hike back up the trail is not so fun. My advice is to head uphill at this junction to complete the circuit and then do it again :) A couple of trees have fallen across the track in the lower reaches. Start here. Ride around this log and follow the track on the bottom side.
Edit: I've been asked a couple of times for directions so for the benefit of everyone else:
The track is on the Summerleas side of the fire trail just 100m or so up from the horse riding place on the switchback (The first photo is actually taken from the main fire trail). There is a way to get to Summerleas road from Dunns creek itself but I've not actually come across this track in my travels. There is a fire trail that follows the high voltage power lines from Ridgeway to Summerleas road (go to the top of Hall Street).
There are a number of other tracks leading in all directions from the "junkyard". I've done heaps of exploring in the area and almost everything on the Summerleas side of Dunns Creek is private property.
Finally, on the map I've linked to below, the road with the marker titled "Public road coming off Summerleas Road" has a gate at the end with a sign stating that bushwalkers and bikers are allowed to enter. This area also has heaps of tracks to play on.
Heres a map with stuff
