Directions and notes
Starting at St. Aloysius Primary school, Blackmans Bay and finishing at the Summit of Grey Mountain, Snug Tiers Reserve.
Approx 55km return trip. Nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon ride. From the top of Van Morey road, all tracks across Snug Tiers are very wet and muddy during winter months and temperatures regularly fall to almost zero. Snow falls are not uncommon during winter. The top section of Van Morey road and the final approach to the summit of Grey Mountain are very steep (great for XC hill climb training). User reviewsLog in to write your own |

Some pics (in order of occurrence):
The entrance to Snug Tiers
The hillclimb leading to the top of Van Morey road (much steeper than this in some sections!)
Random sign along the track ("4x4 vehicles stay on track". You must actually leave the track to see it!)
Some sections of the track can be a bit wet!

Bridge over a tributary of Slippery Creek
Junction to Nicholls Falls [left] (take this detour to the top of the dam and enjoy a fast, rutted and muddy downhill run back to this junction)
